Since 1st of January 2007 the Tourist Association of the Wildschönau region has become part of the Aladdin consortium. They will act as further test bed for testing and evaluating the Aladdin system, especially the mobile application for the traveller (MTE).
The Wildschönau is a considerable holiday region set in extremely pretty surroundings where the local people are particularly friendly. It is this cordial mentality coupled with the breathtaking scenery that has ensured the Wildschönau's evolvement one of Tirol's best loved valleys. A mixture of tourism, agriculture and small businesses indicates a natural growth. There are 7500 guest beds to a population of approx. 4000 - a healthy equation. The beds are in houses of all categories ranging from comfortable pensions to 4**** hotels.
As skiing became a family sport, the mountain sides of the Wildschönau gradually developed into ski slopes. From that time on, nothing stood in the way of Wildschönau's transformation to one of the most popular and well known ski resorts in the region. Guests love the friendliness of the people here and immediately feel at home in this lovely alpine valley.
The Tourist Association in the Wildschönau coordinates and supports the development of touristic innovations in the Wildschönau area. It focuses on an integrated destination management of the whole region, where over 350 hotels and accommodations are located. Approximately 880000 overnight stays are proof of the enormous importance of touristic development in the region. For that reason the Tourist Association intends to make use of information technology to increase the value of services offered in the destination Wildschönau. (e.g. Mobile and Multimedia Services etc.)
